Communication with your new team and work made easy with this team chat app
I’ve heard about many business communication tools such as Slack, Microsoft teams, Hangouts that really help teams collaborate and work seamlessly.
For those who don’t know what a business communication tool is, it is a chat room for your whole company, designed to replace email as your primary method of communication and sharing. Its workspaces allow you to organize communications by channels for group discussions(like groups in whatsapp) and allows for private messages(like personal chat in whatsapp) to share information, files, and more all in one place.
Zoho Cliq, released in the same year Microsoft released its own app Microsoft teams, is a tight competitor to all the team chat apps existing today. Be it a start up or an enterprise, a collaboration tool is necessary to allow its employees to talk to each other, to share data or important information, or even for informal conversations and this is why, Cliq is well suited for.
Lets see some of the features that Cliq offers.
Like people chat privately in whatsapp and other related messenger, Cliq allows employees to chat privately without leaving Cliq’s chat window.
Like Whatsapp groups, channels can be created to communicate with specific amount of colleagues, say teammates or to perform any specific task.
A bot is a conversational interface that takes care of your trivial tasks. Think of a bot like your assistant to perform any monotonous job for you! The bot can be programmed to respond to your queries, to perform action on your behalf and to notify you for any important event.
Bots can be used to perform almost anything it can do on a chat, such as posting reminders, tagging contacts to read a message, post any message or file to a direct chat or channel, and much more. Though these bots are not developed using NLP or AI or ML, it is worth using in a simple chat app.
Scheduler is yet another feature in Cliq, which triggers every day, week or month according to your wish to do anything like reminding you to perform your task, displays any incomplete task, and so on.
Third party app integrations
Zoho Cliq allows you to use any integrated third party apps, and this feature definitely is one of the reasons users love to use chat apps like cliq.
Some of the third party apps are Asana, Trello, Wrike, GotoMeeting, GitHub, Office 365, ServeyMonkey, etc.
Some of the great features of Cliq are the usage of gifs. emoticons, drag-and-drop file sharing, audio and video calls, webinars, conference calls with teams, all within a single chat window!
Also it includes something called message actions, which allows you to select a message, forward it to someone, add it as a task or set it as a reminder to trigger tomorrow at HH:MM etc.
If you ask me why is it better compared to other team chat apps, i would say that it is the cheapest compared to other apps, and it offers free trial(Microsoft teams doesn’t), you can have as many channels as you want simultaneously(limited in Microsoft teams).
But, every team chat app has its own pros and cons. For example, If we take Microsoft teams, its pros are enriched communication with cool gifs, emoticons, live link previews, saves your back and backs up your files, and endless conversation within your team or other officials without the use of email and selecting whom to send and put on cc and much more.
Its cons are similar Microsoft tools available in chat, which keeps people very confused about which tool to use in which situation, not notified when you create a new team with same name as existing team and so on.
There is a common feature in all communication tools, which is “Third party app integration”. This is one great feature that is highly useful and one which makes communication tools worth it.
As I got an opportunity to explore Zoho Cliq, i was able to find out all the features and compare it with few exisiting apps.
Thanks for making it to the end. Anything you found helpful?
